イスラエルのヘブライ大学東アジア学科教授となり、毎年500名を超える学生に日本の歴史と文化の講義を続けられ、現在はヘブライ大学名誉教授として両国関係発展のために尽力されています。シロニー教授は長年の功績がたたえられ2000年に勲2等瑞宝章を授与されました。
